Compare home insurance
Buildings, contents and combined cover for owners, landlords and tenants. We explain what changes your premium, then link you to regulated comparison services for quotes.
Compare home insurance now
We send you straight to a regulated comparison service. Quotes and contracts are theirs, not ours.
How we're paid: ELITE Compare earns commission when you click through to a provider. This never changes the price you pay.
Renting?
If your landlord isn't fixing the problem
If your landlord isn't fixing damp, leaks or heating, our sister service ELITE Housing Disrepair can help you claim. Contents insurance protects your possessions — it does not force a landlord to carry out repairs.

What we check for you
- Whether you need buildings cover, contents cover or both
- That your rebuild and contents sums insured are realistic, not guessed
- Excesses — compulsory and voluntary — and how they change the premium
- Whether accidental damage, home emergency and legal cover are included or added
- Flood and subsidence history for your postcode
Process
How switching works
- Step 1
Tell the comparator what you have now
Your current provider, roughly what you pay and your postcode. Two minutes of preparation saves a lot of guessing.
- Step 2
Compare on a regulated service
We deep-link you to established, regulated comparison services. They show live prices and handle your quote.
- Step 3
Switch and let them do the work
Your new provider manages the transfer and contacts your old one. You keep the paperwork and the cooling-off rights.
Guide
Compare home insurance: the ELITE guide
Why home insurance prices move
Placeholder editorial copy — replace before launch. The UK home insurance market changes constantly: wholesale costs, regulatory price controls, promotional windows and the simple fact that most providers reserve their sharpest pricing for new customers. Households that stay put on a default deal almost always pay more than households that review their arrangements once a year.
Our position is deliberately narrow. We do not sell home insurance and we do not display quotes on this site. What we do is tell you plainly what to look at, then hand you to a regulated comparison service or provider who can quote you properly and take responsibility for that quote.
What a good deal actually looks like
Placeholder editorial copy — replace before launch. A headline price is only one part of the picture. Contract length, exit fees, mid-contract price rises, service levels and the small print around eligibility all change what you really pay over a year. A deal that looks a few pounds cheaper each month can cost more overall once those terms are counted.
We recommend writing down three things before you compare: what you currently pay, what you actually use, and what you are willing to trade. With those three numbers in hand, the comparison step takes minutes rather than an afternoon, and you are far less likely to be steered by a headline figure alone.
The ELITE approach
Placeholder editorial copy — replace before launch. ELITE Field Marketing Ltd has represented utility and telecoms brands on doorsteps, in venues and in retail for years. That work gives us an unusually clear view of how home insurance offers are constructed, where the genuine value sits and which promises tend not to survive contact with a customer's first bill.
ELITE Compare exists to bring that judgement to households directly, without pretending to be something we are not. We are an introducer. We are not an FCA-regulated adviser, we do not recommend a specific product for your circumstances, and we always tell you when we are paid. If a switch is not worth making, the honest answer is to stay where you are — and we will say so.
Once you have picked a home insurance deal, the same logic applies across the rest of the household. Most families we speak to are overpaying in two or three categories at once, simply because nobody has reviewed them together.
